Extended Project Qualification Support

Extended Project Qualification (EPQ)

Let's get EPQ right the first time

The Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) is a highly regarded Level 3 qualification that allows students to explore a topic of genuine academic interest in depth. It is designed to develop independent research, critical thinking, project management, reflection and presentation skills, all of which are particularly valuable for students applying to Medicine, Dentistry and other competitive university courses.

The EPQ is usually taken alongside A levels and is commonly offered through major UK awarding bodies, including AQA, Pearson Edexcel, OCR / Cambridge OCR, and WJEC / Eduqas. These awarding bodies each have their own specification and assessment guidance, but the core expectation is broadly similar: students must show evidence of independent planning, research, development, evaluation and a final project outcome.
For aspiring medical, dental and allied healthcare applicants, an EPQ can be especially powerful when chosen carefully.

A strong EPQ may help demonstrate academic curiosity, wider reading, reflective ability and a mature understanding of healthcare, ethics, science, society or patient-centred issues. It can also provide excellent material for a personal statement, university interview, or wider academic discussion.

What Makes Us The Best?

MSE has supported students with EPQ checking in the past, and this service will be reviewed by Dr Rizvia Khan, alongside a current EPQ student who achieved 100% in their EPQ. This means students benefit from both senior academic insight and first-hand, high-scoring student experience.

The aim of this service is not to write the EPQ for the student, but to provide clear, structured and high-quality feedback so that each student can strengthen their own work, improve their academic presentation, and ensure their project is as polished and purposeful as possible.

Fees

The initial EPQ check is £250.

Each further check thereafter is £125 per review.

Places for EPQ checking are limited. If you wish to take advantage of this service, please book as soon as possible.

If you would like to discuss your EPQ in more detail with Dr Rizvia Khan, please book a call through Amani, Dr Khan’s PA on +44 7949 416958 or info@medschoolentry.uk
