Frequently Asked Questions

Got Questions? We’ve Got The Answers.

Why us?
Because nobody does what we do!

We are two Senior NHS General Practitioners with over 50 years of combined clinical and educational experience. We have almost a decade of extensive knowledge of the Medical and Dental school admission process from start to finish. We have helped thousands of students gain entry into Medical and Dental schools.

We are a Consultant-Led Service with a foundation and formal background in Medical Education. This sets us apart from other medical school admission companies as we have taught medical students, resident doctors, NHS and Private Consultants as well as at Medical Schools including King’s College, Imperial, UCL and St George’s.

As past medical school interviewers we also have in-depth knowledge and insight of what medical schools are looking for. We help tailor your application strategically to ensure that you receive accurate advice and guidance over the application process. Importantly the constructive feedback we give to our aspiring medics and dentists along the entire journey, at every point, will also be honest, specific and sincere, furthering their professional, personal development and growth.

From first-hand experience of having our own children go through the process, we know the pressures that both parents and students face. With so many competing priorities our ethos is to target your preparation, with no frills, no bells or whistles. These two years are daunting enough. We hold your hand through the entire journey, helping you navigate the entire process.

Due to our extensive clinical background, we also have a wide network of healthcare professionals with whom we collaborate. In addition to our own clinical backgrounds, we have doctors and coaches who can help with performance anxiety, and we have referred students to Drs who have a background in managing such conditions, including neurodiversity, in clinical practice. This has helped those students enormously.

We have also branched out to include Student Tutors, who have exceptional skills sets to help in specific areas such as UCAT Tutoring, interviews and even 1-1s. Each student has been interviewed and “quality assured” by us. Some have been mentored and coached by us personally. Collectively we support ALL aspiring medics and dentists, from day one.

Finally, we are hugely proud of our unparalleled support for Widening Access students. Such that those who cannot afford our services, do not need to pay. Our payment structures are such that we cater for all students, regardless of the financial position.

Please see further FAQs for more details on Widening Access/Participation free access.
Our Mission

Our Mission is simply to provide the highest quality support for all aspiring Medical and Dental School applicants through our Consultant-Led Service. We provide expert advice and guidance throughout your Medical and Dental School journey to ensure the best possible outcome for every student.

I want to go to Medical/Dental school, where do I start?
Our programme begins in Year 12 and continues throughout Year 13. These may be the most important two years of your student life, and we will not underplay the number of “hoops” that you will be asked to jump through. However, we will hold your hand through the entire process and help you navigate it with reassurance and ease.

Why are your Courses expensive compared to others?
As Consultants, we confer a level of expertise and breadth of experience, founded in educational principles, that students simply do not have as yet. Collectively we have been working as doctors and educationalists for over 50 years!

Our track record also speaks for itself. Our most recent audit showed that 98.5% of students who had attended our 12-week course followed by at last 1 bespoke 1-1 session, were offered a place a medical school. Considering the hundreds who attend our courses, this is incredible. Thus, our prices reflect this.
Do you offer discounts?
Yes!

Our unmatched Widening Participation Programme allows those who cannot pay completely free access to all our webinars. This service allows those on lower incomes to participate fully, ensuring that finances do not become a barrier to accessing education.

Some of our programmes will also allow you to pay via instalments.

More about our Widening Participation program can be found here.

I am a GEM/Gap year student, can you help?

We would be delighted to! As a GEM/ Gap student, the stakes are higher and so we focus on the areas where your application can stand out.

We can help with

  • 121 A-level Tutoring for resits
  • UCAT tutoring
  • Personal Statement Reviews
  • Choosing 4 universities for UCAS

I am an International student, can you help?

The competition for international students is incredibly high. Medical school places are partially funded by the government and as such there is a cap for the number of places offered to international students.

Knowledge and skills expected for international students are no different to those for home students. This means it is very important for all students to familiarise themselves with UK NHS practice and the GMC.

When purchasing our packages please state that you are an international student so that we can support your application and ensure that any gaps in core knowledge are addressed.

We also support UK home students living abroad.

Do you offer UCAT support?
UCAT is a differentiator for many medical and dental schools and as such our flagship UCAT Support Platforms have been phenomenally successful. Our tutors have all scored within the top decile (previously >3000) and are some of the best scorers across the UK and Australia. They have all been through an extensive interview process including lesson observations and now attend the top universities including Oxbridge, Imperial and UCL.

For UCAT we offer:

– One Day Masterclass, led by Senior Doctors, follow this up with:

– 8 Week UCAT Coaching Course with our Super Tutors

– Supplement with 121 tutoring or specialised UCAT Clinics.

For those who have missed our courses, you can access Crash Courses in the Easter and Summer holidays.

All these can be booked using our online platform on Classcard.
Do you offer a 1-2-1 service?

Yes – Our online 1-2-1 sessions are bespoke and tailored to your needs. As Consultants, clinicians, educationalists, coaches and mentors, we will provide the highest level of feedback.

Do you record your sessions?

We believe medicine is an ever-evolving field and we are constantly updating our
webinars to reflect these changes.

This is why LIVE teaching will always be best over books and e-learning platforms.

Recorded sessions are an ineffective way of teaching designed to make a profit and does not put the student first.

Interview support especially cannot be achieved with
recorded sessions, with no tailored interaction from an interview coach.

Do you work with schools?

Yes, we do email us for a bespoke quote. We can travel within the M25 or offer online
webinars on any aspect of the admissions process.
